I first met Mimi on a boat to swim with whales in Mo’orea, French Polynesia. Hearing her speak about her work, I knew her story deserved a proper conversation. A few weeks later, we sat down at sunrise at Temae Beach.
Mimi is an underwater photographer who has dedicated her life to the ocean — something that comes through clearly in everything she creates. We spoke about her practice, the rare privilege of swimming alongside whales, and why their conservation matters. It was a reminder of why seeking out passionate creatives, wherever in the world they are, is always worthwhile.

By the time we got to the BAHAMAS, I'd been following these players long enough to know the tournament was only half the story. The World Series is poker's biggest stage, but what I wanted was everything around it: the routines, the doubts, the hours between hands that decide how the hands go.
We filmed through the whole run, from morning preparation to the pressure of the late tables. Days like these are why I love documentary work: you arrive thinking you're filming a card game, and you leave having filmed people at the exact moment their year comes down to a decision.
